The prediction uses Peter Riegel's formula. From a one-hour 10K it gives 2:12:23 for the half marathon and 4:36:01 for the marathon. The formula assumes you trained for the longer distance: without long runs the prediction is too optimistic.
How to train for 21.1 km is in the half marathon training guide, and how long amateurs really take on longer races is in marathon and half marathon times.

How to train for a 10K
About 8 weeks if you can already run 4 km: that is the length of Hal Higdon's Novice 10K plan. Each week has three runs, two cross training sessions and two rest days.
The first run in the plan is 2.5 miles (about 4 km), the longest is 5.5 miles (about 9 km). Cross training is swimming, cycling or walking at an easy pace. Higdon advises running at a pace where you can talk, and not being afraid to walk.
If the first 4 km feel hard, Higdon suggests waiting with the plan, and if your race is more than 8 weeks away, building a base on an easier program first. Start with the 5K: see 5K times.
